Who we are
FlashtorialApps provides Flashcards. This policy explains how information is handled in the mobile app and web version. Contact: flashtorialapps@gmail.com.
Information you provide
Account features use your email address, authentication credentials, and display name. Firebase Authentication processes sign-in credentials; Flashcards does not store your password in its local library. Your optional profile includes your name, study focus, and daily card goal. Cards contain the text and images you choose, deck settings, review counts, due dates, and mastery progress.
Online learning and offline copies
An account is required. Cards, selected images and photos, deck settings, review counts, due dates, and mastery progress are uploaded automatically when you save or complete scheduled reviews. Profiles are saved to Cloud Firestore. The app automatically stores an account-specific offline copy of your cards and images on this device. Your sign-in session is retained by Firebase Authentication. Earlier local libraries are retained for migration and are not automatically uploaded. Importing them requires your confirmation. Exported JSON files include your library content; protect files you save or share.
Technical information and providers
We use Google Firebase Authentication for account access and Cloud Firestore for profiles and cloud backups. These services may process technical and security information, such as IP addresses, browser or device information, and authentication events, to deliver and protect their services. This version does not integrate advertising SDKs, Firebase Analytics, Crashlytics, or an AI content service. Firebase privacy documentation: https://firebase.google.com/support/privacy.
How information is used
We use information to authenticate you, provide your profile and requested backups, schedule local reviews, display learning progress, respond to support requests, and protect the service. Selected image and import files are read to create the content you request. Choosing a file does not give us access to the rest of your files. If you choose Take photo, the app requests camera access to capture an image for the current card side. Photos are uploaded with the card when you save it.
Sharing
Online library content, profile information, and authentication data are processed by Firebase to operate the service. Creating a deck link stores a separate snapshot of its cards and images. Anyone holding the link can sign in to preview and save a copy. Study progress is not shared. Revoke links in Profile; revocation cannot remove copies already saved by recipients. Shared snapshots remain until their links are revoked, even if the original deck is edited or deleted. Reports include the reporting account ID, shared-deck identifier, reason and time, and are reviewed by authorized support staff. Blocked-creator preferences are stored with your account. We do not sell personal information or share it for targeted advertising. Information may be disclosed when required by law or to protect users and the service. If ownership changes, applicable privacy obligations continue to apply.
Storage and security
Cloud Firestore for this app is configured in the United States; our providers may process information in other locations. Account-based rules restrict access to cloud profiles and backups. Local storage and JSON exports are not encrypted by the app, and backups are not end-to-end encrypted. Protect your device and credentials. No storage or transmission method can be guaranteed completely secure.
Retention and deletion
Automatic offline copies and earlier local libraries remain until you remove them or clear app/browser data. Signing out does not delete them. Profiles and cloud snapshots remain while retained for your account; older backup versions are currently retained. Deleting an online card or deck removes it from the active library, but does not delete earlier cloud snapshot versions or exported files. Email flashtorialapps@gmail.com to request deletion of your account, cloud profile, and all backup versions. We may verify identity before acting. Provider backups, security records, or legally required records may persist for a limited period after deletion. We cannot remove exports you have saved or shared.
Your choices and rights
You can edit your profile and cards, export your library, and access automatically saved offline copies. Registration and online storage are required; there is no guest mode. Depending on applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or obtain a copy of your personal data, or object to or restrict certain processing. Send requests to flashtorialapps@gmail.com. Device-local data must also be removed on each device where it is stored.
Children
Flashcards is not directed to children under 13, or a higher minimum age where local law requires it. If you believe a child has provided personal information without appropriate authorization, contact us so we can investigate and remove it as appropriate.
Policy updates
We will revise the effective date when this policy changes and provide additional notice of material changes where appropriate. Questions about this policy or your data: flashtorialapps@gmail.com.
